Although the Groundlings club in Hollywood is pretty small and that I was sitting close to the stage from the audience, I was not close enough to tell the difference. I wish I could have chatted with her, but I would not have said anything about her nose! She did look good in person, as she did on TV. |

Yeah, that would've kinda awkward if you had gotten a chance to talk to her and had said something about her nose!
I can see it now...
"Wow Ms. Gasteyer it's a real honor to meet you. I've always been a big fan of your nose....err, I mean work!" 
I heard that she left SNL b/c she was pregnant. I wonder if she's going to stay in show business now that she's a mom.

She did leave SNL because of her pregnancy. She made a joke about it in a skit on her last day on SNL, drinking a liquor bottle. 
I didn't see her then, but she was also here in Phoenix a few years back on the final tour of the Lilith Fair concerts. I believe she's also a folk singer, in addition to doing comedy. Since leaving SNL, I have not heard from her. |

Even when nosegirl is being weird, she is so cute that we take it very seriously. 
I've heard talk from friends who say they hate to have their picture taken because it makes their nose look bigger than it really is, so you may have a point there, NG!
As to Andrea Martin, she has a wonderful Armenian nose. Armenian women often have magnificent noses. I spoke to her for a few minutes after a Shakespeare in the Park she did here in NYC in the 90's, and the whole time as she spoke animatedly I longed to lean down and gently kiss the tip of her gorgeous schnoz, as it swayed about while she talked. I thought it might be a bit untoward, though, so I controlled myself.

I can see where you wouldn't have had the nerve to tell Anna Gasteyer that you admire her nose, phxandy.
When I met Sarah Jessica Parker, I couldn't bring myself to tell her that I love her nose. To this day I wonder how she would've reacted, as she was so pleasant, actually engaging me in conversation for a few minutes rather than simply signing the program of the off-Broadway play I had just seen her in. I can't help but believe that she would've been cool with my telling her that I am enamored of her nose.
And nosegirl, SJP's nose looked as magnificent in person as it does on screen, but I thought everything about her including her nose appeared slightly smaller in person. I guess TV and movies do make people appear "larger than life". |

There was actually an episode of Sex in the City where SJP mentions her nose and that she hates it.

That only means that Carrie Bradshaw, a fictional character played by SJP, hates her nose. It doesn't tell us what SJP's feelings about her nose are any more than whether or not she's attracted to Chris Noth. It's called ACTING, Mitch
P.S. I did hear that Kim Catrall is as sex crazed in real life as Samantha. |

| Hi - this is an excellent site - to put in my 2 cents worth re: beuatiful noses, you all seem to be forgetting Cate Blanchett. She proves the maxim, that a prominent nose is what rescues a woman from mere prettiness into true beauty. |

True, but that said, an interviewer once started telling her that her nose was sexy and she got very embarrassed and flustered.
I think her nose is wonderful. It's not as sexy as Nosegirl's, but then again, whose is?

Y' know, I never really thought of Cate Blanchatt's nose as big, but I guess it's kinda wide isn't it? I've always thought that she has a "classic" kind of beauty...for some reason she reminds me of how actresses in the 30s and 40s looked.
And the SJP debate rages on!!
it's an interesting question though: how DOES she really feel about her nose? Inquiring Nosegirls want to know!
I'm pretty sure that I've heard her make mention of her nose in interviews before...something to the effect of saying that it was big. But confessing to having a prominent nose or getting embarrassed by an interviewer's compliment don't neccessarily mean that she dislikes her nose.
It seems to me that SJP has "crossover" appeal as she seems to be admired by nose lovers and non-nose lovers alike. I've heard heard any guy say that he didn't think she was attractive because of her nose (but I've heard guys say that about Sarah Michelle Gellar and Penelope Cruz), but it seems to be universally accepted that she *does* have a prominent nose.
My guess is that she feels the same way about it that any well-adjusted "nosegirl" should: she realizes that she has a prominent nose, and while she may not be thrilled by that fact (and may wish that her nose was smaller) she also realizes that her nose doesn't take away from her beauty at all.
And of course in present company it actually enhances her beauty!
If any of you web sleuths out there find any interviews or anything out there where SJP's nose is mentioned, let us know here at the message board. I think it's a pretty interesting subject.

SJP and her exquisite nose can be seen on the cover of the latest TV Guide.
She used to be a frequent guest on David Letterman, but the topic of her nose never came up in the interviews(believe me, I would've remembered if it did).
I agree with nosegirl, that this is an interesting topic, although I still maintain that, whether SJP likes her nose, hates her nose, is ambivalent about her nose, has accepted her nose, or something in between, she would've been cool with my telling her that I am enamored of her nose. |

TV starlet Lisa Kudrow has admitted she has undergone cosmetic surgery. The Friends star confesses to this month's Allure magazine that she had a nose job when she was 16 in 1979. Lisa explains she used to have a "hook nose" and her new snout is "considerably smaller." She says, "But I'm not even sure I love how that turned out. I think plastic surgery looks weird - like plastic surgery."

Thanks for the news flash Nosetradamus! I never knew that Lisa Kudrow had a nose job.
Okay phxandy, I officially give you permission to give me a hard time about how I said I didn't think Lisa qualified as a true "nosegirl"!
If she had the surgery when she was 16, I don't suppose there are any pics of her old nose. I'd like to see it. |

OK Priya, ya got me there!!!  After reading Nosetradamus' post, I asked myself, "I wonder if Priya would pick up on that."
I guess Lisa Kudrow's nose was much prettier than it is now! I would certainly call her a nosegirl before her nose job. I'd too would like to see Lisa's old pics. |
